Sprinkler Swimming

We are so excited for the nice weather! Yesterday after our afternoon walk, our sprinklers came on in the yard. The kids asked if they could get on their swimsuits and go run through them. I couldn't say no, so everyone got all changed and headed for the back yard. Kate was so excited to go "swim" and Audrey and Forest were just happy to get cooled off. Here are some picture...

Kate in her new suit. She was given this suit about 2 years ago and she's finally grown into it. Doesn't she look cute?

Here's Audrey posing for the camera and Forest about to launch, or so it seems.

Audrey getting wet for the first time of the day.

Kate thinking, "Should I get wet some more?"

Her answer was YES!

I LOVE this picture. If you look closely you can see the excitement on Kate's face. They all had such a great time. The best part for me was to hear the excited squeals and laughter.

Here are all three of the kids: Audrey and Forest are just chilling in some lawn chairs, of course in the direct path of the sprinkler.

This was my first reminder of the season just how much fun water can be. I'm sure we will spend more time getting wet before the summer is over.

Adventures in Tie-Dying

This week the kids and I tried something new. We tie-dyed some t-shirts for the first time. It was more easy than I thought it would be. You can't really do it wrong. Here are some pictures of what we created.

This first picture is of the shirts still rubberbanded. The dye is soaking into the shirts as they sit for 6-8 hours. Then, they have to be washed and dried SEPARATELY. The kids were a bit anxious to see how they turned out (and so was I) so I was up until 1 a.m. washing and drying the shirts.

Here is the shirt I made:

Audrey's shirt:

Forest's shirt:

Since Robb, Josh, and Jake couldn't be here to do it with us, we made them each their own shirt.

Josh's shirt:

Jake's shirt:

This is Robb's shirt. We tried a new design with this one and it turned out pretty good. Now, the only question is, Will Robb wear this shirt? Not likely, but at least he knows we were thinking of him and now has another t-shirt to sleep in.

This is an extra shirt that we tried a new design on. I think it's a favorite.

For our first time tie-dying, we did pretty good! Near the end we got braver and tried new designs. Next time, we know what to expect and can only improve our tie-dying abilities.

I Love Stickers!

Kate absolutely loves stickers. If you pull out a blank piece of paper, some crayons, and some stickers she is completely happy. It will keep her busy for at least a few minutes while I try to straighten up the house. Here are some pictures of her creating art today:

OUR HOUSE SOLD

I am very excited to announce that our house has sold. We will be moving near the end of the month. This will be quite the adventure for our family!

6th Grade Graduation

Audrey graduated from 6th grade this year. She is growing up so fast and becoming a very responsible young woman. She is so smart and works hard to do a good job at anything she does. She is an awesome big sister and helper around the house! And now she is moving on to junior high. I can't believe she is almost a teenager. It actually kind of blows my mind!

Audrey with her certificate. She wasn't thrilled that I was snapping so many pictures, but she was a good sport and played along.

Kate trying to be patient during the program.
We call this her monster smile.

Audrey picked Arby's as the place to eat.
It's one of her favorite restaurants.

My Trip to Connecticut

Over Memorial Weekend I was able to fly out to Connecticut to visit Robb. I was so excited to see him! I hadn't seen him for 3 whole weeks-which is the very longest we have been apart. While I was in Connecticut we were able to do some house hunting. It was fun to see the area and look at houses we could potentially buy. We found some we like and now just need to narrow it down to the one we will buy.
Robb was also able to take me to ESPN and give me a tour of where he works and what he does. Right now Robb directs ESPN News. It was neat to see the control rooms and be in some of the studios where they do shows like ESPN News, SportsCenter, Sports Nation, and Baseball Tonight.

One of the many sports themed hallways at ESPN. I had to get a picture of the BYU helmet!

Here I am in the football hallway. It's much neater in person.
Come for a tour when you are in Connecticut!

While I was there we also met some people from the ward we attended who invited us to a foil dinner cookout. It was fun to socialize with these nice people. They really made us feel welcome. On the way to the cookout, we saw a sign on the side of the road that said Satan's Kingdom, Next Right. When we saw that sign we thought we must have read it wrong but sure enough at the next right was the sign below. We had to get this picture!
I had a wonderful time with Robb in Connecticut. I was sad to leave him! Now I'm just waiting for when we will all be together again.

What's better than 99¢ rootbeer floats?

Playing on the playground at Artic Circle after eating your rootbeer float!
We went to Artic Circle while our house was being shown and I snapped these pictures of the kids. They had a great time playing...as they always do!

Josh and Forest...KINGS of the SLIDE!

All the boys hanging around...literally.

The whole group. I just love this picture!
